how to lock ftp user to their root dir on vsftp

when I build this site.I need ftp to upload web files to the server space.And the upgrade of wordpress also need ftp.

I found it dangerous if the ftp user can access “/” directory. I want to lock them to each ftp root dir. So that I can protect my linux system dir.

There’s a way.

vi /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf

modify following parameters

chroot_local_user=YES

chroot_list_enable=NO
# YES=no lock，user can access other dir. not safe

chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd/chroot_list

save the modify and restart vsftpd.It’s work now.
